Whether you have never used a sewing machine or you already have one but are not sure how to get started, this program is for you :)
In this 6h program you will learn:
basic machine functions
installing zippers
seam types
hemming
…and more!
By the end of this program, each student will have the skills to attempt many sewing projects on their own.
Prerequisites: none
Supplies: All supplies will be provided. Sewing machines are available for in-class use, however students are welcome to bring their own if they wish (please indicate that on the intake form)

Repairs and Alterations
This course is perfect for beginners, and you don't need any prior experience with a sewing machine. In just a few hours you will learn how to:
Crop a t-shirt with the original hem type
Crop pants, skirts and dresses
Take in the waist
Darn and repair holes
Re-attach buttons
Replace zippers
….. and more!
Please bring your projects. Don't have any clothing in need of repair? Not a problem! Ask your friends and family or thrift some fun garments to practice on. I will also bring plenty of examples and sample fabrics for practice.

TIERED SKIRT
ALL AGES
Are you ready to start sewing clothes? If so, this is the perfect project for it.
In this 11h course you will learn to:
Draft the pattern for a tiered skirt
Make changes to customize the basic pattern
Sew an elastic waistband
Hem
Gather fabric in two ways
…. and more!
By the end of this course, you will walk out with the most adorable skirt to wear this summer! And you will be able to make more :)
Prerequisites
Know how to: thread your machine, use straight stitch and zig zag, backstitch (if you want to take this course but need a refresher on these, just send me an email)
Supplies
You can bring your machine, or use one provided for you (please indicate that on the intake form). Please bring your own fabric for this project. Types of fabric and where to purchase them will be discussed during our first class.
